Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM is a autofocus prime lens with ultra-sonic motor for SLR cameras.
The optical scheme comprises 12 elements in 8 groups. Thanks to the 8-bladed aperture, the subjects located outside the depth of field are shown with very smooth features. Equipped with a silent ultrasonic motor providing fast and quiet autofocusing.
This lens has a size of 119 mm. This is a normal size, very convenient in everyday use. This lens weighs 600 grams, given the weight of the camera, it may deliver long wearing problems. The lens is suitable for shooting near objects. Mounting the filter has a common size. Is perfect for portraiture and plener photos. Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM went on sale in 2000. Currently out of production (2009) and is no longer available.
