Leitz Wetzlar Elmarit-C 40mm f/2.8 is a manual focus prime lens for 35mm rangefinder cameras.
The optical scheme comprises 4 elements in 3 groups. Thanks to the 10-bladed aperture, this lens has a beautiful bokeh, the subjects located outside the depth of field are shown with highly circular features. This feature will be appreciated by professional filmmakers and photographers taking portrait photos.
The weight of this lens is very small (125 grams) and is almost invisible against the background of the weight of the camera. Leitz Wetzlar Elmarit-C 40mm f/2.8 went on sale in 1973. Currently out of production (1973) and is no longer available.
