Equivalent focal length is 27.9...108.5 mm. The optical scheme comprises 11 elements in 9 groups. Thanks to the 7-bladed aperture, the subjects located outside the depth of field are shown with very smooth features.
This lens has a size of 77 mm. This is a normal size, very convenient in everyday use. The weight of this lens (235 grams) is suitable for everyday use. The lens is suitable for shooting near objects. Mounting the filter has a common size. 18-70mm provides lot of focal length range. Sony DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 went on sale in 2006. Currently out of production (2009) and is no longer available.
