Equivalent focal length is 85.25...310 mm. The optical scheme comprises 13 elements in 9 groups (1 LD). Thanks to the 9-bladed aperture, the subjects located outside the depth of field are shown with very smooth features.
This lens has a size of 83 mm. This is a normal size, very convenient in everyday use. The weight of this lens (295 grams) is suitable for everyday use. Mounting the filter has a common size. 55-200mm provides lot of focal length range. Tamron AF 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Di II LD MacroA15 went on sale in 2005. Currently out of production (2013) and is no longer available.
