Equivalent focal length is 18.6...37.2 mm. The optical scheme comprises 13 elements in 11 groups (2 AS + 1 SLD). Thanks to the 9-bladed aperture, the subjects located outside the depth of field are shown with very smooth features.
This lens has a size of 89.5 mm. This is a normal size, very convenient in everyday use. This lens weighs 570 grams, given the weight of the camera, it may deliver long wearing problems. The lens is suitable for shooting near objects. Mounting the filter has a common size. Tokina AT-X 124 PRO DX AF 12-24mm f/4 went on sale in 2004. Currently out of production (2008) and is no longer available.
